A Little Tale of the little Fish that Crossed the Big Mountain

A Little Tale of the little Fish that Crossed the Big Mountain

Once upon a time, in a little town name Littlaly,
There lived a little Fish , whose name was Emily ,
With eyes that shone like twinkling pearls and a mane that flowed like silk,
She lived in quiet pond with her Ma and Pa , and led her life with a radiant glee.

There came Uncle Sun each day, smiling at them in his own sweet way,
And so it was time to rejoice, to eat the food her Ma brought her, and then again , make more merry,
And then her Pa taught her to swim, and round and round they went in circles so fine,
He taught her to back-flip and turn on her fin,” Just one more , my girl”, he’d say, “And then after dinner, u could have your cherry!” .

And so each day passed, the sun came and went, the shadows stalked the nights,
The seasons passed as Emily learnt, to swim and to hunt and to eat and to fight,
She became a beautiful girl , “My little Princess” , her Pa called her when he kissed her good-night.

But it started raining one day, and it poured and poured till the skies had no more tears,
And Emily’s pond was full with the waters from the heavens, but together they held on; with Ma and Pa, she felt no fear ,
So it was quiet that night, when the walls gave way, their little pond had lost all hope, and death seemed near,
But Lady Luck had the last say, as little Emily’s mane got stuck in a sinewy old weed, and she struggled to watch, as her Ma and Pa got washed away.

Beyond the pond , she had heard the elders say, lies a Big mountain , with eyes so huge and teeth like knives,
And beyond the Big Brown Devil, lies a sea that would lead to the great oceans,
So little Emily dreamt , of her Ma and Pa, being washed by the rains , into the deep blue sea,
She was fast asleep, when a strange voice whispered into her ears, “Conquer the Devil, and unite the family”.

And so she spent her days and nights , preparing for her battle, with the Big Brown Devil,
She did a thousand back-flips and a thousand turns on her fin, she dreamt of Pa teaching her to win,
At nights she talked with Ma in her sleep , she gathered her strengths from all her sorrow and grief,
And then came the day, when the sun shone the brightest , for beyond the mountains, lay her quest.

She swam and swam, with all her might , till she reached the edge of the shattered pond,
She did a back-flip and with the corner of her eyes caught a glimpse of the Devil, till she came back in for a dip,
She’d have to swim, across the rocks and into the narrow channel, that led over the mountains in to the sea,
There would be sharp shells to tear her apart, and very little water to keep her afloat,
But she’d have to swim with all her heart, she’d have to beat the Devil and escape his wrath.

She took a deep breath and began her journey, over thorns and weeds, and rocks and stones,
She swam fearlessly into the Devil’s zone, till she could see the clear blue waters of the ocean fill the horizon,
And Pa and Ma filled with relief, to see their little girl, overcome the grief,
And conquer the Big Brown Devil and come into her own, their hearts filled with pride, for the courage their Little Princess had shown.

The Dark Knight Tales - a story in 3 parts

The original story:

Darkness in the Heart

She’s waiting in the shadows, behind the veil of incessant rain,
Waiting for her dark knight, to free her from His wrath and disdain,
A thousand monsoons have passed since she held her head high and walked free,
A hundred suns have risen and fallen, since she knew what freedom used to be.

It was at the turn of time, when she’d chosen her destiny,
Over true love and unending passion, when she’d loved the greenery,
Dark and brooding, He willed to punish her to a life of slavery,
Bound to shackles and chains, He’d confined her forever, in the caves of misery.

Red dust covers the earth now - the blood of all the people who sinned,
Black shadows roam the empty lanes, the lights shall always remain dimmed,
She waits patiently, her lesson’s been learnt , for now she knows - He shall come
But hell hath no fury , like true love scorned - for He does come –

It was at the stroke of twelve , that the sword struck her heart,
It was when the blue moon sank, that her body was torn apart,
It was when the blazing sun rose, that her soul was trapped,
It was when the black clouds rained with her cold blood , that the red dust froze .

His head held high, a shine in his armour, he gallops away in the dark,
He rides the creature of the night with agony in his heart,
With victory and glory, he blazes his trail – She deserved no less – he holds his thought,
A gleam of cold red poison lines his sword – For revenge he desired, and revenge he got .

The Prequel:

The Story of the Dark Knight : The Beginning

There was a time when roses bloomed and fairies filled the empty skies,
When it rained drops of pearls – within each drop the seeds of love lie,
It was when these silver showers fell on them that love blossomed,
When He held her tight and she knew life was a beautiful journey now –
Like a walk through a path of mulberry trees, in the most beautiful autumn.

Cushioned in the pillows of soft snow, they had braved the icy winds,
Deep in the glacier caves of the cold mountain, He’d bitten the apple of the original sin,
Blinding white was the snow but deep dark red was the colour of the fire that burnt within,
He wrapped himself around her the way a viper holds on to its prey’s warmth,
Their bodies melted in a rhythmic dance, their love so eternal - their passion so divine.

Winter gave way to the blazing sun, chariots of orange raced the horizons,
Deep was his gaze, as He saw the golden tyrant set in her honey-hued eyes,
A lifetime of sunshine He promised, if only she willed to share with Him- her life,
Slight was her apprehension as silence filled the air – His moment of sadness at her strife.

Sunshine she desired, but in the fields of gold – the sun never set there – So He was told,
When the grief turned into darkness, He could never say – He had tried telling her- His heart was gold ,
When it was filled with black desire, He never knew – in the beginning – with himself was his fight,
But the venom slowly gripped Him, dark was His heart and He willed her to bleed - and so was born – the Legend of the Dark Knight.

The sequel:

The Legend of the Dark Knight : Into the Sunset He Rides

Her blood’s red on His green sword, the black poison’s drying in His teal scabbard,
He rides his Black Stallion with a cold fury – Redemption’s not what He seeks – through his heart still runs a scar,
The cold deserts sing the song of the setting blue sun, an oasis of feelings lining the silken sands,
He sought His destiny in her mirage of love- now they’ll ride with Him forever- the demented demons of the past.

Into Hell he stirs the beast, where a hundred stars burn the red skies – On lands soaked with sinners’ blood,
He walks onto the place where the Satan rests, where sins and sinners rule- there’s no place for good,
He drives His hate into the parched ground, and smiles as the venom drains into the bowels of Hell,
His sword’s shines anew – his soul’s been cleansed – but somewhere deep within – love still dwells.

He roams the deserts and skims the skies, He steers His stallion into the waves of the oceans,
Free is his soul but his heart’s still dark – He wants no Destiny and He needs no mission ,
He shall wander the lands till the darkness fades – it shall melt into the cold moon or be drowsed by a new monsoon,
Dark Knight He shall be called no more, For he knows one day, Love will return.

And that was the time when the roses bloomed and fairies filled the moist skies,
The drops of pearls rained again – with each drop, love filled his heart again,
It was through those silver showers that he saw his Angel – a face laced with a love pristine,
It was when She smiled for him that he knew he was on a beautiful journey now –
Like walking through weightless white clouds in the most beautiful dream.

Wrapped in the golden sands , he took the bait to the original sin,
Deep was his gaze, as he saw Her angelic eyes seduce the blue sun,
A lifetime of sunshine lay ahead, She promised, if only he willed to share with Her- his life,
Dark had been his path, doomed had been his days – but then he saw the truth in Her eyes,
The Knight’s been buried with the setting sun, a new day shall arrive for Him - until then its with Her love that his heart lights.

An unfinished poem

Through the thick foliage, the golden sun finds its way,
Makes each little leaf glow in its splendor, each day,
The mystic breeze sends the trees on a little sway,
This little scene unfolds in front of me, takes me back to the noon of May.

When the mid-day wind played tricks on the maple above me,
An invisible flautist filling the heavy air with notes of glee,
The unsung artist working in the skies, painting with silver and gold, tree after tree,
Little did I know, an afternoon to remember, it was to be.

Kaise beeta us din ka har pal, hai mujhe aaj bhi yaad,
Un chanchal nigahon ne jo jaadu kiya tha mujh par,
Zindagi ke is anjaan mod par, jaise mil gaya ho thehraav,
Jaise sadiyon se un mein doob ne ki aas thi, aur poori hui wo fariyaad,

Sooraj ke bikharte sihai se wo ajab shaam dhali,
Naye manzilon ke talash mein, ek baar phir,
Kadmon se milake kadam, wo mere saath chali,
Chaand se pardah utha, surmaiyee raat ka hone laga aghaaz,
Dhalti roshni ke aagosh mein, sitaron ki mehfil saji.

The silvery beach lay so quiet, the midnight moon caressed the sands,
Wave after wave of unrelenting desire swept the shores,
The ocean’s infinite longing to be one with the land,
An unfulfilled dream that was to be, an unfinished poem this shall be!!

in the mood for love

Are you in the mood for love?
To be embraced by the blue of the night,
And be draped in the sweetness of the monsoon air,
Are you in the mood for some love...
No yesterday, no today, no tomorrow... no care.

Are you in the mood for love?
To be lost in the silences of the city's streets,
Will you hold my hand and walk these narrow lanes?
Are you in the mood for some love...
No affection, no lust, no pleasure, no pain.

Are you in the mood for love?
Look into my eyes all night and say nothing at all,
Let the slow rain dissolve our hearts into one,
Are you in the mood for some love...
No new dreams to be seen, no more memories to come.

Are you in the mood for love?
Let the waltz arrest our bodies in its rythm,
Dance with me through this night, let your soul drift,
Are you in the mood for some love...
No more homes to live in , no more places to shift.

Are you in the mood for love?
Let our shadows merge under the dim lights,
Tell me, are you in the mood for some love..
Will you sit with me here and wait for the morning sun?
Are you in the mood for some love.....
For now is the moment, and we shall part as strangers... in time to come.

desires...

Hazaron khwaishen aisi, ki har khwaish pe dum nikle…so opens the famous ghazal by Ghalib. Desires… thousands of them.. unreachable, tantalizing desires. Havent each one of us had this unrelenting feeling of restlessness, of incompleteness, a sense of a void within our souls, the need to belong, the inexplicable longing for something unknown. Desires, that’s what we all are ruled by. Have you ever thought to yourself … aren’t there many things that you’d like to do , or perhaps the ‘real’ person inside you wants to do?
At our core is our subconscious mind , in an eternal battle with our conscious self.. it’s a battle of our deepest desires against the rational mind, a constant argument over what is termed ‘right’ and what seems ‘right’.

sunshine in the rain...

A different kind of love, a love which stems from understanding and genuine care, where tomorrow doesnt matter, but its all about those precious moments rare...
Each night, before i go to sleep ,i make a requiem for a dream, where on your soft shoulders i shall lean, life couldnt be any better, coz your with me, and thats all that matters...
i know, not all dreams come true, but there's hope in your arms, and there are worlds to explore new, for all we get are these moments few...
Maybe all i need are memories, to make me forget my worries,to think back on time and wonder, perhaps it cudnt have gone yonder...
I know the sun will set tomorrow, and i know i will feel the pain, but there's golden sunshine through today's rain,I shall only bask in the light of my past, and give no room for sorrow...
